He began building in his loft apartment in Chelsea, during the height of the 70's art scene. Recognized for his work by antique dealers, he began restoring the finest works of furniture including those of Pierre Chareau. His work caught the eye of Yoko Ono who commissioned Jackson to create a mystery puzzle box desk to gift John Lennon on his 34th birthday . . .
Noteworthy among his designs is the Library Chair™, first developed for architect James Ingo Freed’s San Francisco Public Library and currently in use in libraries across the country, including Harvard, NYU, Stanford and Cesar Pelli’s Minneapolis Public Library . . .
Jackson’s signature body of work also includes several design collaborations with Steinway & Sons."

CASA of Los Angeles Wine+Art Event January 2018
There was a huge turnout this year for a fantastic annual art event that benefits abused and neglected foster children in Los Angeles. Please take a moment to learn more about CASA of Los Angeles and the important work they do. The passion and dedication of the volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates and CASA staff make a real difference in the lives of innocent children who would otherwise fall through the cracks of an insanely overloaded system. From CASA: "Wine+Art raised over $171,000 to support CASA of Los Angeles and our advocacy work for children in LA County’s child welfare system who have experienced abuse and neglect. This means we can serve more children in the dependency system with intensive one-on-one advocacy so they have the opportunity to thrive in a safe and permanent home."
AWAKE sold in the evening's silent auction, and an original artwork by Mark Bradford sold in the live auction. Mark also supports local foster youth through Art + Practice, a nonprofit he co-founded in Leimert Park Village, Los Angeles with philanthropist and collector Eileen Harris Norton, and community activist Allan DiCastro.
