For me, painting starts with an empty mind and a blank canvas. Varied intuitive marks then start interacting with each other, patterns appear, recede and reappear, and finally a path to the finish emerges, usually in a burst of inspiration. Abstract expressionistic with graffiti and street art influences, it's the contrasts and differences that pop up in this process that I enjoy the most.
